The 11h edition of POLYURETHANEX was held on April 23 – 25, 2019 at Expocentre Fairgrounds, Moscow, Russia. The event is a traditional annual business meeting place of Russian and foreign industry experts, manufacturers, suppliers & consumers of polyurethane, technologies & equipment for polyurethane-based finished products, it’s a wrap-up meeting place and source of new information the further development would be difficult without.

Polyurethane (PUR) is characterized by its longevity, versatility and dimensional stability. Due to its positive characteristics, this plastics is suitable for various application areas: from construction to foams for furniture and bedding, in transportation as well as in the production of paints, coatings, adhesives and sealants.

According to Ceresana market research data, in 2014, a worldwide turnover of US$ 50 billion was achieved with PUR. The market research institute Ceresana expects annual revenues to increase by 4.8% p.a. to approximately US$ 74 billion until 2022 that includes US$ 9,7 billion – the turnover of adhesives and sealants based on polyurethane.

This February there held the International Conference - PU & TPU 2019 organized by CREON Group. At the conference the experts discussed the Russian PU market condition and once again noted its heavy reliance on imported raw materials and its volatility.  As estimated by CREON Group, the total volume of PU production in Russia reached 346 thousand tons last year, exceeding by 3.3% the production in 2017. The market continued to grow even during the isocyanate price hike, which lasted until June 2018. As for futures, the opinions are different. Some experts doubt in successful polyurethane market development taking into consideration its volatility and import dependence. However, other experts consider there are prerequisites for growth in the industry despite the unsolved problems. For example, in 2018, even a large segment of PU consumption in Russia represented by PIR panels market overturned stagnation forecast by growing 10%, and may grow by another 15% this year. The flooring market also grew significantly last year, from 14 thousand tons to 18.8 thousand tons, with epoxy floors leading (7.1 thousand tons), and polyurethane floors following (7 thousand tons): most of this production was local. Polyurethane consumption rises to a new level not only in construction industry, but in furniture and agricultural once as well as in refrigerating machinery.

In 2019 89 exhibitors took part in the events from 10 countries (Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Italy, People's Republic of China, Netherlands, Belarus Republic, Russia, Taiwan & Turkey).

At the Polyurethanex 2019 there presented the following brand new materials and products: INNOTECH LLC presented offers to Russian market innovative solutions in field of supply of industrial equipment for the polyurethane industry. At the stand there was a spraying glue application machine that could be fitted into continuous lines for production of rockwool panels with smallest working space and foaming equipment for production of polyurethane panels on continuous lines with using of fillers.

Mixings Ltd deals with high quality complex solutions, equipment and materials for the industry of two-component mixing: cartridge systems, static mixers, guns and dispensers. It provides services in filling of two-component cartridges and services in selection and development of material (adhesives, compounds, coatings) according to the specification of the customer. Mixings Ltd presented at the stand new high-tech two-component materials of Russian development with unique features.

Momentive Performance Materials - a global leader in specialty chemicals and materials – presented at the event major urethane additive products including silicone surfactants, catalysts and process modifiers. Key new products are silicones for slabstock applications, emission free catalysts, silicones for 1-k foams.

Oerlikon Barmag presented gear metering pumps being deployed in technical systems within manmade fiber production, chemicals, plastics, dyes and lacquers industries as well as in PUR applications. They are available for conveying volumes of between 0.05 and 200 cm³/rev. The development of the multi-stage pump expands the applications range for the series considerably. The round 2-stage pump has been developed especially for use in high-pressure technology. It masters the challenge of conveying small throughputs with low viscosities. The other range of pumps was made for conveying (filled and unfilled) media with higher viscosities and is predominantly deployed in silicon processing and in hot-melt adhesive applications, but also in the processing of resins and other liquids with higher viscosities.

Polymertechnology company is starting to sell a new material for roofing on the Russian market - polyurea hybrid with aluminum powder PS2-H Allum. This is a new roofing material of silver color, resistant to ultraviolet, not needing additional protective coating. Also digging Polymertechnology is an innovative development of the company GAMA hydraulic installation 220 Volt of 2 parts for easy lifting to the floors of apartment buildings and transportation.

The storage and processing of chemical substances, in particular of environmentally hazardous and flammable substances, requires complex plants of the highest precision. PURPLAN GmbH presented innovative 3D-Scan technology: even highly complex constructions can be quickly and reliably recorded on site and documented in 3D. PURPLAN uses laser scanning to capture your existing facility conditions: enable a virtual inspection of your plant. Accuracy of the point information is combinated with the real views generated as panoramic photos during the scanning process. This means that all geometry and texture can be realistically displayed down to the last detail, which enables an uncomplicated repair or extension of your facility.

Hennecke GROUP offers high-quality machines, plants and systems for all technologies for polyurethane processing: pressure metering machines, slabstock production lines, sandwich panel production lines for rigid or flexible facings, roll forming lines, systems for production of refrigerator doors and cabinets, automatic systems technology for moulded foam parts, metering machines for processing PU elastomers, etc. At the Polyurethanex 2019 Hennecke presented new solution – a low pressure metering machine - with which provided the opportunity to use proven high-pressure technology for manufacturing a wide range of elastomer products. The disposal costs for flushing processes and advance waste incurred in conventional low-pressure technology are now a thing of the past.

 

On April 23, 2019 at Conference-hall, Pavilion 1 within the business program of the Polyurethanex exhibition there held the Production and use technologies of polyurethane materials (R&D Conference).

Polyurea Development Association Europe (PDA Europe) exhibited at the show for the first time. Association is planning to hard sell the polyurea technologies to the Russian market via the Polyurethanex show, and also are going to organize Polyurea Applicator Spray Course in Moscow that has a better focus on practical aspects of the polyurea application without compromising the theoretical and H&S aspects.

At the Polyurethanex 2019 there was a signing of the Agreement between Covestro Deutschland AG and Unikom-Servis NPP LLC. According to the Agreement Unikom-Servis NPP LLC becomes the first and the only licensed recycler of Vulkollan® in Russia.

At the same time with Polyurethanex, there held the International specialized exhibition COMPOSITE-EXPO (12th edition) allowed a wide range of specialists to get acquainted with innovation technologies of manufacturing and samples of finished products of composite materials for different branches of industry. 158 exhibitors took part in the show from 14 countries (Austria, Belarus Republic, Czech Republic, France, Finland, Germany, Italy, Isalamic Republic of IRAN, Luxemburg, Macedonia, the People’s Republic of China, Russia, Turkey and USA). In 2019, on the space about 7000 sq. m. there situated 248 Composite-Expo and Polyurethanex exhibitors, including 158 national (domestic) companies and 90 foreign ones from 18 countries. Over 15800 people visited the shows and 90% of them were specialists in different fields of industry. It witnesses growing demands of the Russian market to use modern innovation materials and technologies in different industries.

The 12th Polyuerthanex 2021 will be held March 30 - April 1, 2021 in Expocentre Fairgrounds, Pavilion 1, Moscow, Russia traditionally simultaneously with 13th Composite-Expo 2021.

Exhibited at Polyurethanex for the first time, it’s telling event for us and we are certain now there is an interest of Russian polyurethane foam market in premium class products of our company. Polyurethanex is a specialized event which where we traditionally exhibited in every year. At the show there were key players of the market: among them either local of foreign major components manufactures,     research institutions, Russian industrial clusters, equipment manufacturers that, by no means, impacted positively on results of meeting anв negotiations.
