Kimpur certifies PU systems containing up to 40% recycled PET

Kimpur has received ReMade certification for three polyester polyols and two rigid polyurethane foam systems containing post-consumer recycled PET.
The Turkish polyurethane systems house said the products contain up to 40% recycled material by weight, depending on the formulation. They are intended principally for the manufacture of insulated sandwich panels.
Certification body ICMQ independently audited the origin and traceability of the recycled PET, along with Kimpur’s production records and mass-balance calculations.
According to Kimpur, the certified materials provide mechanical and technical performance comparable with conventional products and can be processed on existing production lines without modifications.
The company has completed its first commercial shipment of the products to a sandwich panel manufacturer in Europe. Kimpur said the certification should help European customers demonstrate recycled content and comply with environmental requirements applying to construction products and public procurement.
The certificate, numbered RE1219, was issued on July 15 and is valid until July 14, 2029, subject to surveillance audits.
Kimpur announced the establishment of PET-based polyester polyol operations at its Düzce plant in Türkiye in 2025. The project turns post-consumer PET into raw materials for polyurethane insulation systems.
Tuncay Halat, Kimpur’s vice general manager for sales, marketing and sustainability, said: “ReMade certification independently verifies the ratio of recycled content used in our products and its traceability throughout the supply chain. Thus, we provide our European customers with measurable and certifiable recycled content options. With these products that do not compromise on technical and mechanical performance, we contribute to our customers’ environmental targets.
“We believe this development will expand our partnerships in the European construction sector and support our goal of increasing market share in the region.”
