Kimpur expands speciality PU portfolio through Kobe Polyurethane partnership
Kimpur has formed a strategic partnership with Kobe Polyurethane as the Turkish polyurethane systems producer looks to expand into higher-value niche product segments.
Under the agreement, Kimpur has established an 80%-owned subsidiary structure with Kobe Polyurethane, a company with more than 10 years of manufacturing experience and annual sales potential of around 10,000 tonnes.
Kobe Polyurethane specialises in products for specific application areas, with around 55% of its portfolio currently outside Kimpur’s existing product range. The move is intended to broaden Kimpur’s presence in speciality polyurethane markets while complementing its existing systems business.
Kobe Polyurethane exports around 40% of its production, mainly to Europe and CIS countries, giving Kimpur access to an established international customer network. Following the investment, Kobe will continue operating under its existing brand structure, while production of its product groups will be transferred to Kimpur facilities using Kimpur’s manufacturing, operational and R&D infrastructure.
The companies said the partnership is expected to create synergies in production, purchasing and R&D, while improving operational efficiency through shared manufacturing infrastructure and economies of scale. The companies also aim to strengthen their position in export markets and support long-term growth.
As part of the agreement, Kobe Polyurethane founder and CEO Nisso Behar will remain with the company as executive partner and vice-chairman of the board, preserving the company’s existing management structure and technical expertise.

The partnership follows a period of rapid expansion for Kimpur, which has been increasing production capacity through investments including the transfer of Ravago polyurethane reactors to its Düzce site. The company says it now has total polyurethane systems capacity of 280,000 tonnes across Türkiye and Latvia.
